My journey through the world of coding began as a student at a Coding Bootcamp, which uniquely positioned me at the intersection of software development and education. After graduating, I ventured into the field, only to return as an associate instructor, and eventually stepping into the role of Student Success Manager. This role allows me to leverage not just my technical skills, but also my interpersonal and managerial abilities. However, despite my passion for student success, I've felt a growing need to keep my software development skills sharp and active, especially since they are not the primary focus of my current position.

My engagement with Notion began out of a need to streamline management and organization tasks. What started as a practical tool quickly grew into a fascination with its capabilities, particularly its integration of management tools with robust features like relational databases, advanced formulas, and an accessible API. This platform has not only enhanced my workflow efficiency but has also reignited my passion for blending technology with user-centric management.

In this project, Notion will transcend its role as a mere documentation tool; it will become the backbone of the application itself. I am excited to put Notionās full capabilities to the test, utilizing its databases and API to manage core functionalities of the Dart League Manager. This will not only help me keep my coding skills in practice but also upskill my expertise with Notion by integrating it more deeply into software development processes.

The catalyst for this project was my final capstone project from my bootcamp days ā a Dart League Manager application. Although I launched a career quickly after its inception, the project was never fully realized to its potential. Now, with refined skills and a deeper understanding of both software development and educational frameworks, I see a compelling opportunity to redevelop this application. This endeavor isn't just about completing what I started; it's about reimagining it with the advanced capabilities of Notion, demonstrating my growth, and providing a living curriculum to current students.

In my role, I often advise students on the importance of visibility and networking through platforms like LinkedIn and the concept of Building in Public. I believe in leading by example, and thus, embarking on this project to publicly develop a new application is a way to embody the very principles I teach. It serves as a practical demonstration of maintaining and enhancing professional visibility while engaging directly with a community that shares similar interests.

This project is not only a personal challenge but a professional experiment in using Notion to manage and document the development process in a transparent, educational manner. It will also serve as a platform for collaboration, inviting students, fellow instructors, and industry professionals to contribute, learn, and innovate together. The ultimate goal is to enrich my software development skills while expanding my professional network, engaging with other Notion enthusiasts, and providing a real-world example of continuous learning and public development.
